COVID-19 Permanent Regulations are now in effect

It was down to the wire but the California Office of Administrative Law (California OAL) approved the Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Permanent Regulation. What does this mean for California employers?

Important to note, this takes effect immediately. The filing was February 3 which means the Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) has ended as of Friday and the new regulations are in effect now.

The Permanent Regulation will be in effect for two years, through February 3, 2025. However, record keeping requirements extend for three years.

The good news? The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) has released FAQ’s for employers.

HR Done Right has a Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Permanent Regulation toolkit available. This will replace previous toolkits from the previous regulation.
