Required reporting deadlines are approaching

California employers with 100 or more employees are gearing up to complete required reporting. The California Pay Data and EEO-1 reports are due in May and July, respectively. What do you need to know as an employer required to submit these reports?

California Pay Data

The California Paya Data report is required of all employers in California with 100 or more employees. This report collects information on your employees’ pay and demographics. Changes for the collection of 2022 data include the addition of mean and median hourly rates, additional reporting for employers who hire through labor contractors, and increased penalties for non-compliance. The deadline for this report is May 10, 2023.

EEO-1 Reporting

Employers in the United States with 100+ private sector employees or federal contractors with 50+ employees are required to submit EEO-1 Reporting on an annual basis. This report collects information on your employees’ ethnicity/race, sex, and job categories. The portal for 2022 data submission is expected to open in mid-July.

Your payroll system should be able to assist you with reporting templates to meet these requirements. Reach out to our consulting team for guidance.
